A reindeer skull and antlers lie on a hillside above Godthul. Reindeer were introduced to South Goeorgia by the Norwegian whaling community in the early 20th century to provide fresh meat. These non-native beasts have proved destructive to the fragile environment so, along with non-native rats, have been exterminated. Godthul, South Georgia. 21Feb16
