The pass is variously claimed to have a height of 5359 m (17,582 feet) or 5,602 m (18,380 feet) or 5,682 m (18,640 feet). One notice says 'Project Himank welcome you at Khardong La world's highest motorable road 18380 ft'. Others relate to the Nubra Shyok and Karakorum wild life sanctuary.
